TJ's Sample Homeschooling Schedule:

Sample Activities |
Around 9 or 10 am:
Name writing practice, calendar activities, journal activities other handwriting practice (words, sentences) |
Short review of some known surahs; new memorization |
lesson, review, or game |
lesson, or review |
Note: most of the time we only get in one subject (math or English) during this time as it is difficult for me to coordinate 6 students and housework. If we do not do Islamic Studies in the morning, then we try to do it in the afternoon. |
Dhuhr time:
*We break up the number of surahs we know into five parts (one for after each prayer time) and ideally we recite those daily. In reality, dhuhr, and asr are the only times we usually end up reciting because after maghrib, well, its hard to get anything academic done usually. |
| After Dhuhr: | |
lesson or oral review |
Lesson or read history/science articles or books. I usually read the material to them (even my older ones). |
| After Asr | |
| * I have six that are at the age of playing computers games, well actually seven, my almost two year old has mastered using the mouse. Each child has their own "computer day" where only they (in theory) get to play a game for 1 hour. | |
| After Maghrib | |
| After Isha | |
