Talibiddeen Jr. is maintained by me, Umm Ibrahim, a homeschooling Muslim mother of 8 children (5 natural and 3 step). I have been homeschooling since 1998 and have been Muslim since 1997. I have a degree in Civil Engineering from UC Davis (California) and worked in Construction Management for a few years, but made the decision with my family to became a stay at home mom about a year after becoming Muslim, alhamdulillah, a decision that I have never regretted.
Talibiddeen Jr. started in the Spring of 2002. Initially I wanted a place where I could refer quickly to my favorite links for personal use and share those links and other information about homeschooling that I had found with others. I also created a few online books for my children and thought others might find them useful as well.
I stopped working on TJ a few months after that and didn't pick back up again until Spring of 2006. I had lost a lot of my homeschooling materials from my earlier days (the good stuff) and so set about to re-make them and put them online so that, insha Allah, I would have them in the likely event of yet another computer crash. Only one item remains from the initial site (the e-book, I am a Muslimah, that I wrote for my oldest daughter). The rest of the items (printables, e-books, etc) are new or re-creations of items that I have made since May 2006 or items that have been donated to TJ.
I know the difficulties faced by many homeschoolers of today such as financial or lack of affordable resources especially due to being overseas. I hope that you find TJ beneficial and a time and money saver whether you are Muslim or non Muslim, a homeschooler, public or private educator or parent.
JazakAllahu Kheyr to all those who have emailed me with kind words and words of encouragement and made duaa for me and my family. They are extremely appreciated and help motivate me to keep developing and adding to TJ.
Below are some of the those who have contributed to TJ in a variety of ways from providing research, checking links, to donating materials to TJ. BarakAllahu feek to those who have contributed their time and effort, suggestions, advice, and words of encouragement to help TJ grow.
